In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Karanam Dharmasri of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Kalidindi Surya Naga Sanyasi Raju of TDP by a margin of 27,637 votes which was 15.82% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Kalidindi Surya Naga Sanyasi Raju (Babu) of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Karanam Dharmasri of YSRCP by a margin of 909 votes which was 0.55% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Kalidindi Suryana Naga Sanyasi Raju of TDP won this seat defeating Karanam Dharmasree of INC by a margin of 1,385 votes which was 0.9% of the total votes polled for the seat.
