In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Appalanarasayya Botcha of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Appala Naidu Kondapalli of TDP by a margin of 27,011 votes which was 15.67% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Appalanaidu Kondapalli of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Kadubandi Srinivasa Rao of YSRCP by a margin of 19,423 votes which was 12.16% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Appalanarasayya Botcha of INC won this seat defeating Aruna Padala of TDP by a margin of 27,674 votes which was 18.39% of the total votes polled for the seat.
