Demographic profile

There were a total of 2,74,312 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 YSR District, Cuddapah Assembly election, of which 1,33,967 were male, 1,40,257 female and 88 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,65,211 registered voters, of which 1,33,967 were male, 1,35,010 female and 87 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 2,70,099 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,34,554 were male, 1,35,512 female and 33 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 2,27,880 which included 1,11,713 male, and 1,16,167 female.

In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Amzath Basha Shaik Bepari of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Ameer Babu Nawabjan of TDP by a margin of 54,794 votes which was 32.87% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Amzath Basha S B of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Durgaprasad Rao Sudha of TDP by a margin of 45,205 votes which was 27.86% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Ahamadullah Mohammad Syed of INC won this seat defeating Kandula Sivananda Reddy of TDP by a margin of 7,350 votes which was 5.38% of the total votes polled for the seat.
