In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Thoguru Arthur of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Bandi Jayaraju of TDP by a margin of 40,610 votes which was 23.54% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Isaiah Yakkaladevi of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Labbi Venkata Swamy of TDP by a margin of 21,814 votes which was 13.63% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Labbi Venkataswamy of INC won this seat defeating Chimme Bitchanna of TDP by a margin of 5,773 votes which was 4.09% of the total votes polled for the seat.
