In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Shilpa Ravi Chandra Kishore Reddy of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Bhuma Brahmanandha Reddy of TDP by a margin of 34,560 votes which was 17.5% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Bhuma Nagi Reddy of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Silpa Mohan Reddy of TDP by a margin of 3,604 votes which was 2.06% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Silpa Mohan Reddy of INC won this seat defeating A V Subba Reddy of PRAP by a margin of 31,889 votes which was 21.9% of the total votes polled for the seat.
