In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Viswasarayi Kalavathi of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Jayakrishna Nimmaka of TDP by a margin of 17,980 votes which was 13.15% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Viswasarayi Kalavathi of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Jaya Krishna Nimmaka of TDP by a margin of 1,620 votes which was 1.33% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Nimmaka Sugreevulu of INC won this seat defeating Gopalarao Nimmaka of TDP by a margin of 16,150 votes which was 14.92% of the total votes polled for the seat.
