Demographic profile

There were a total of 2,07,408 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Visakhapatnam Padamara, Vizag, Vizagapatam, Visakha, Waltair Assembly election, of which 1,02,525 were male, 1,04,873 female and 10 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,36,625 registered voters, of which 1,02,525 were male, 1,14,518 female and 8 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 2,26,938 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,20,120 were male, 1,06,790 female and 28 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 1,65,948 which included 86,115 male, and 79,833 female.

In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, P G V R Naidu(Gana Babu) of TDP won in this constituency beating Vijay Prasad Malla of YSRCP by a margin of 18,981 votes which was 14.08% of the total votes cast. In 2014, P G V R Naidu (Gana Babu) of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Dadi Ratnakar of YSRCP by a margin of 30,857 votes which was 22.77% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Vijaya Prasad Malla of INC won this seat defeating Gana Venkata Reddi Naidu Petakamsetti (Ganababu) of PRAP by a margin of 4,144 votes which was 3.57% of the total votes polled for the seat.
