In 2014, David Raju Palaparthi of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Ajitha Rao Budala of TDP by a margin of 19,071 votes which was 12.08% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Audimulapu Suresh of INC won this seat defeating David Raju Palaparthi of TDP by a margin of 13,194 votes which was 9.86% of the total votes polled for the seat.
