Other Andhra Pradesh Assembly constituencies adjacent to Chittoor are: Puthalapattu, Gangadhara Nellore. This constituency shares an inter-state border with: Tamil Nadu.

In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 1,93,904 registered voters, of which 98,610 were male, 97,695 female and 41 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 1,92,535 registered voters in this constituency, of which 96,106 were male, 96,390 female and 39 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 1,79,155 which included 89,195 male, and 89,960 female.

In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Aranii Srenevasulu (Jangalapalli) of YSRCP won in this constituency beating A S Manohar of TDP by a margin of 39,968 votes which was 26.37% of the total votes cast. In 2014, D A Sathya Prabha of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Jangalapalli Srinivasulu (Jmc) of YSRCP by a margin of 6,799 votes which was 4.68% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, C K Jayachandra Reddy @ C K Babu of INC won this seat defeating Arani Srinivasulu J M C of PRAP by a margin of 1,710 votes which was 1.35% of the total votes polled for the seat.
