In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Uppalapati Venkata Ramanamurthy Raju of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Panchakarla Ramesh Babu of TDP by a margin of 4,146 votes which was 2.46% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Panchakarla Ramesh Babu of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Pragada Nageswara Rao of YSRCP by a margin of 8,375 votes which was 5.26% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Uppalapati Venkata Ramanamurthy Raju (Kannababu) of INC won this seat defeating Gonthina Venkata Nageswara Rao of PRAP by a margin of 10,090 votes which was 6.92% of the total votes polled for the seat.
