Location

The geographic coordinates of Gurazala Assembly constituency are: 16°33'48.2"N 79°45'41.0"E. Gurazala shares its borders with five other Assembly constituencies. Other Andhra Pradesh Assembly constituencies adjacent to Gurazala are: Vinukonda, Macherla, Narasaraopet, Sattenapalli, Pedakurapadu. This constituency shares an inter-state border with: Telangana.

Demographic profile

There were a total of 2,71,428 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Gurajala Assembly election, of which 1,32,280 were male, 1,39,106 female and 42 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,68,598 registered voters, of which 1,32,280 were male, 1,36,825 female and 54 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 2,38,623 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,17,846 were male, 1,20,745 female and 32 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 2,12,059 which included 1,04,093 male, and 1,07,966 female.

The number of service voters in Gurajala Assembly constituency was 129 in 2019, 84 in 2014 and 76 in 2009.

In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Kasu Mahesh Reddy of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Yarapathineni Srinivasa Rao of TDP by a margin of 28,613 votes which was 12.71% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Yarapathineni Srinivasa Rao of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Janga Krishna Murthy of YSRCP by a margin of 7,187 votes which was 3.7% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Yarapathineni Srinivasa Rao of TDP won this seat defeating Ala Venkateswarlu of INC by a margin of 10,021 votes which was 6.04% of the total votes polled for the seat.
