Demographic profile

There were a total of 2,71,034 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Kandanavolu, Kandanolu Assembly election, of which 1,31,237 were male, 1,39,765 female and 32 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,58,876 registered voters, of which 1,31,237 were male, 1,31,600 female and 42 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 2,45,672 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,22,609 were male, 1,23,031 female and 32 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 2,11,511 which included 1,05,115 male, and 1,06,396 female.

In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Abdul Hafeez Khan of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Tg Bharath of TDP by a margin of 5,353 votes which was 3.51% of the total votes cast. In 2014, S V Mohan Reddy of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating T G Venkatesh of TDP by a margin of 3,479 votes which was 2.41% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, T G Venkatesh of INC won this seat defeating Abdul Gafoor M of CPM by a margin of 44,067 votes which was 39.44% of the total votes polled for the seat.
