In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Monditoka Jagan Mohana Rao of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Tangirala Sowmya of TDP by a margin of 10,881 votes which was 6.38% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Thangirala Prabhakara Rao of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Dr Monditoka Jagan Mohan Rao of YSRCP by a margin of 5,212 votes which was 3.31% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Prabhakara Rao Tangirala of TDP won this seat defeating Parameswara Rao Velpula of INC by a margin of 5,171 votes which was 3.7% of the total votes polled for the seat.
