In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Chelluboyina Srinivasa Venugopalakrishna of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Thota Trimurthulu of TDP by a margin of 5,168 votes which was 3.06% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Thota Trimurthulu of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Pilli Bose of YSRCP by a margin of 16,922 votes which was 10.57% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Bose Pilli of INC won this seat defeating Thota Trimurthulu of PRAP by a margin of 4,031 votes which was 2.84% of the total votes polled for the seat.
