In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Karumuri Venkata Nageswara Rao of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Arimilli Radha Krishna of TDP by a margin of 2,195 votes which was 1.16% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Arimilli Radha Krishna of TDP was the winner in this seat beating Cheerla Radha Krishna of YSRCP by a margin of 30,948 votes which was 17.25% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Karumuri Venkata Nageswara Rao of INC won this seat defeating Y T Raja of TDP by a margin of 1,451 votes which was 0.89% of the total votes polled for the seat.
