In the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, Budi Mutyala Naidu of YSRCP won in this constituency beating Gavireddi Ramanaidu of TDP by a margin of 16,392 votes which was 10.6% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Budi Mutyala Naidu of YSRCP was the winner in this seat beating Gavireddi Ramanaidu of TDP by a margin of 4,761 votes which was 3.24% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Gavireddi Rama Naidu of TDP won this seat defeating Avugadda Rama Murthy Naidu of INC by a margin of 6,827 votes which was 4.9% of the total votes polled for the seat.
