This constituency covers an approximate area of 581.73 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Bodh Gaya is: 24°38'40.2"N 85°10'55.6"E.

In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Kumar Sarvjeet of RJD won in this constituency beating Hari Manjhi of BJP by a margin of 4708 votes which was 2.43% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Kumar Sarvjeet of RJD was the winner in this seat beating Shyamdeo Paswan of BJP by a margin of 30473 votes which was 18.43% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Shyam Deo Paswan of BJP won this seat defeating Kumar Sarvjeet of LJP by a margin of 11213 votes which was 9.19% of the total votes polled for the seat.
