In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Shahnawaz of AIMIM won in this constituency beating Sarfaraz Alam of RJD by a margin of 7383 votes which was 4.24% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Sarfraz Alam of JDU was the winner in this seat beating Ranjeet Yadav of IND by a margin of 53980 votes which was 34.06% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Sarfraz Alam of JDU won this seat defeating Koshar Zia of IND by a margin of 25330 votes which was 20.33% of the total votes polled for the seat.
