In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Navin Jaiswal of BJP won in this constituency beating Ajay Nath Shahdeo of INC by a margin of 16,264 votes which was 06.46% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Navin Jaiswal of JVM was the winner in this seat beating Seema Sharma of BJP by a margin of 8,018 votes which was 3.67% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Gopal S N Shahdeo of INC won this seat defeating Ram Ji Lal Sharda of BJP by a margin of 25 votes which was 0.02% of the total votes polled for the seat.
