In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Bandhu Tirkey of JVM won in this constituency beating Deo Kumar Dhan of BJP by a margin of 23,127 votes which was 10.29% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Gangotri Kujur of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Bandhu Tirkey of TMC by a margin of 7,605 votes which was 4% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Bandhu Tirkey of JHJAM won this seat defeating Deo Kumar Dhan of INC by a margin of 29,971 votes which was 19.36% of the total votes polled for the seat.
