In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Jiga Susaran Horo of JMM won in this constituency beating Dinesh Oraon of BJP by a margin of 38,418 votes which was 23.72% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Dinesh Oraon of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Jiga Susaran Horo of JMM by a margin of 2,593 votes which was 1.81% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Geeta Shree Oraon of INC won this seat defeating Samir Oraon of BJP by a margin of 14,941 votes which was 13.08% of the total votes polled for the seat.
