Demographic profile

There were a total of 2,11,080 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Anugul Assembly election, of which 1,09,091 were male, 1,01,936 female and 53 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,18,053 registered voters, of which 1,09,091 were male, 1,03,494 female and 8 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 1,99,661 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,06,232 were male, 93,426 female and 3 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 1,84,218 which included 98,539 male, and 85,679 female.

In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Rajanikant Singh of BJD won in this constituency beating Pratap Chandra Pradhan of BJP by a margin of 8,823 votes which was 5.58% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Rajanikanta Singh of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Pratap Chandra Pradhan of INC by a margin of 20,343 votes which was 13.46% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Rajani Kant Singh of BJD won this seat defeating Sangram Keshari Mishra of INC by a margin of 20,463 votes which was 16.57% of the total votes polled for the seat.
