In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Mohammed Moquim of INC won in this constituency beating Debashish Samantaray of BJD by a margin of 3,827 votes which was 2.86% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Debashish Samantaray of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Mohammed Moquim of INC by a margin of 14,298 votes which was 11.36% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Debashish Samantaray of BJD won this seat defeating Suresh Mohapatra of INC by a margin of 24,485 votes which was 25.19% of the total votes polled for the seat.
