In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Prakash Soren of BJP won in this constituency beating Sarojini Hembram of BJD by a margin of 19,411 votes which was 12.11% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Sananda Marndi of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Nisamani Baske of BJP by a margin of 17,114 votes which was 11.85% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Sananda Marandi of BJD won this seat defeating Bhadav Hansdah of JMM by a margin of 4,760 votes which was 4.17% of the total votes polled for the seat.
