In 2014, Bikram Keshari Arukha of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Binayak Tripathy of INC by a margin of 31,701 votes which was 21.61% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Bikram Keshari Arukha of BJD won this seat defeating Debi Prasad Bishoyi of INC by a margin of 73,367 votes which was 62.01% of the total votes polled for the seat.
