There were a total of 2,22,087 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election, of which 1,14,090 were male, 1,07,974 female and 23 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,14,471 registered voters, of which 1,14,090 were male, 1,03,008 female and 22 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 1,88,244 registered voters in this constituency, of which 98,974 were male, 89,268 female and 2 of the third gender. In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Surjya Narayan Patro of BJD won in this constituency beating Pinky Pradhan of BJP by a margin of 40,452 votes which was 29.48% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Surjya Narayan Patro of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Saka Sujit Kumar of INC by a margin of 45,897 votes which was 35.73% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Surya Narayana Patro of BJD won this seat defeating V Rabi Narayan Raju of INC by a margin of 32,763 votes which was 31.02% of the total votes polled for the seat.
