Demographic profile

There were a total of 2,16,232 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Parjang Assembly election, of which 1,11,225 were male, 1,04,995 female and 12 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,13,751 registered voters, of which 1,11,225 were male, 1,03,109 female and 9 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 1,90,048 registered voters in this constituency, of which 99,822 were male, 90,220 female and 6 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 1,79,908 which included 92,677 male, and 87,231 female.

The number of service voters in Parjang Assembly constituency was 374 in 2019, 343 in 2014 and 262 in 2009.

In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Nrusingha Charan Sahu of BJD won in this constituency beating Bibhuti Bhusan Pradhan of BJP by a margin of 740 votes which was 0.44% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Nrusingha Charan Sahu of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Bibhuti Pradhan of BJP by a margin of 3,052 votes which was 2.02% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Dr Nrusingha Sahu of BJD won this seat defeating Bibuti Bhusan Pradhan of BJP by a margin of 5,188 votes which was 4.17% of the total votes polled for the seat.
