In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Pradeep Maharathy of BJD won in this constituency beating Ashrit Pattanayak of BJP by a margin of 15,787 votes which was 9.03% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Pradeep Maharathy of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Judhistir Samantaray of INC by a margin of 33,474 votes which was 20.76% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Pradeep Maharathy of BJD won this seat defeating Judhistir Samantaray of INC by a margin of 12,505 votes which was 8.29% of the total votes polled for the seat.
