There were a total of 2,33,865 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election, of which 1,20,424 were male, 1,13,436 female and 5 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,28,805 registered voters, of which 1,20,424 were male, 1,10,090 female and 3 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 2,08,739 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,09,451 were male, 99,271 female and 17 of the third gender. In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Pradeep Maharathy of BJD won in this constituency beating Ashrit Pattanayak of BJP by a margin of 15,787 votes which was 9.03% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Pradeep Maharathy of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Judhistir Samantaray of INC by a margin of 33,474 votes which was 20.76% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Pradeep Maharathy of BJD won this seat defeating Judhistir Samantaray of INC by a margin of 12,505 votes which was 8.29% of the total votes polled for the seat.
