In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Md Kamran of RJD won in this constituency beating Purnima Yadav of JDU by a margin of 33074 votes which was 20.46% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Purnima Yadav of INC was the winner in this seat beating Fula Devi of BJP by a margin of 4399 votes which was 3.13% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Kaushal Yadav of JDU won this seat defeating Prof. K. B. Prasad of LJP by a margin of 20887 votes which was 20.87% of the total votes polled for the seat.
