In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Tarkishore Prasad of BJP won in this constituency beating Dr. Ram Prakash Mahto of RJD by a margin of 10519 votes which was 6.17% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Tarkishore Prasad of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Bijay Singh of JDU by a margin of 14894 votes which was 9.69% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Tar Kishore Prasad of BJP won this seat defeating of RJD by a margin of 20607 votes which was 16.45% of the total votes polled for the seat.
