In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Chandreshwar Prasad Singh of BJP won in this constituency beating Mahua Maji of JMM by a margin of 5,904 votes which was 03.47% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Chandreshwar Prasad Singh of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Mahua Maji of JMM by a margin of 58,863 votes which was 39.56% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Chandreshwar Prasad Singh of BJP won this seat defeating Pradeep Tulsyan of INC by a margin of 27,111 votes which was 23.31% of the total votes polled for the seat.
