Demographic profile

There were a total of 3,74,458 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election in Amravati Assembly constituency, of which 1,88,426 were male, 1,86,005 female and 27 of the third gender. This constituency covers an approximate area of 44.35 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 20°57'07.2"N 77°46'29.6"E.

A total of two Assembly constituencies in the state of Maharashtra share borders with Amravati constituency, which are: Badnera, Teosa. This constituency shares an inter-state border with .

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections, the estimated voter turnout in this Maharashtra constituency was 55.98%. In 2019, this seat registered a turnout of 49.12%, while it was 56.57% in 2014 and 52.01% in 2009. The estimated turnout in 2024 was -6.86% compared to the 2019 turnout.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Sulbha Sanjay Khodke of INC won in this constituency beating Dr Sunil Panjabrao Deshmukh of BJP by a margin of 18,271 votes which was 10.58% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Dr Deshmukh Sunil Panjabrao of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Raosaheb Shekhawat of INC by a margin of 35,072 votes which was 21.67% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Raosaheb Shekhawat of INC won this seat defeating Dr Sunil Panjabrao Deshmukh of IND by a margin of 5,614 votes which was 4% of the total votes polled for the seat.
