Other Odisha Assembly constituencies adjacent to Brajarajnagar are: Attabira, Bhatli, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Rengali. This constituency shares an inter-state border with: Chattisgarh.

Demographic profile

There were a total of 2,14,434 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election, of which 1,09,084 were male, 1,05,335 female and 15 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,11,290 registered voters, of which 1,09,084 were male, 1,02,207 female and 21 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 1,90,614 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,01,185 were male, 89,391 female and 38 of the third gender. In the 2009 polls, the number of total electors was 1,82,972 which included 98,138 male, and 84,834 female.

The number of service voters in Assembly constituency was 197 in 2019, 101 in 2014 and 75 in 2009.

In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Kishore Kumar Mohanty of BJD won in this constituency beating Radharani Panda of BJP by a margin of 11,634 votes which was 7.07% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Radharani Panda of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Anup Kumar Sai of BJD by a margin of 6,790 votes which was 4.66% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Anup Kumar Sai of INC won this seat defeating Suresh Pujari of BJP by a margin of 1,742 votes which was 1.5% of the total votes polled for the seat.
