There were a total of 2,30,084 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election, of which 1,17,652 were male, 1,12,330 female and 102 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,30,302 registered voters, of which 1,17,652 were male, 1,09,996 female and 98 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 2,10,112 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,12,317 were male, 97,790 female and 5 of the third gender. In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Souvic Biswal of BJD won in this constituency beating Nayan Kishore Mohanty of BJP by a margin of 22,103 votes which was 16.12% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Pravat Ranjan Biswal of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Suresh Mohapatra of INC by a margin of 41,385 votes which was 31.79% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Pravat Ranjan Biswal of BJD won this seat defeating Deepak Kumar Barik of IND by a margin of 32,777 votes which was 31.68% of the total votes polled for the seat.
