In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,13,845 registered voters, of which 1,12,144 were male, 1,02,171 female and 15 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 1,97,707 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,04,947 were male, 92,745 female and 15 of the third gender. In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Prasanta Kumar Muduli of BJD won in this constituency beating Chiranjib Biswal of INC by a margin of 8,642 votes which was 5.34% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Chiranjib Biswal of INC was the winner in this seat beating Bishnu Charan Das of BJD by a margin of 2,888 votes which was 1.87% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Bishnu Charan Das of BJD won this seat defeating Chiranjib Biswal of INC by a margin of 10,077 votes which was 7.58% of the total votes polled for the seat.
