In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Prasanta Kumar Muduli of BJD won in this constituency beating Chiranjib Biswal of INC by a margin of 8,642 votes which was 5.34% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Chiranjib Biswal of INC was the winner in this seat beating Bishnu Charan Das of BJD by a margin of 2,888 votes which was 1.87% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Bishnu Charan Das of BJD won this seat defeating Chiranjib Biswal of INC by a margin of 10,077 votes which was 7.58% of the total votes polled for the seat.
