In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Tusharkanti Behera of BJD won in this constituency beating Biswa Bhushan Das of INC by a margin of 45,691 votes which was 26.69% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Surendra Sethi of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Rabindra Kumar Sethy of INC by a margin of 41,030 votes which was 26.19% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Rabi Mallick of BJD won this seat defeating Biswa Bhusan Das of INC by a margin of 15,221 votes which was 10.8% of the total votes polled for the seat.
