In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Sabitri Agarwal of BJD won in this constituency beating Bijoy Mohapatra of BJP by a margin of 17,898 votes which was 10.05% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Bed Prakash Agarwalla of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Jayanta Kumar Mohanty of INC by a margin of 47,715 votes which was 29.96% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Bed Prakash Agrawalla of BJD won this seat defeating Bijoy Mohapatra of BJP by a margin of 26,735 votes which was 18.31% of the total votes polled for the seat.
