There were a total of 2,59,247 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Rajnagar Assembly election, of which 1,34,930 were male, 1,24,308 female and 9 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,44,456 registered voters, of which 1,34,930 were male, 1,15,937 female and 20 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 2,20,156 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,16,883 were male, 1,03,268 female and 5 of the third gender. In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Dhruba Charan Sahoo of BJD won in this constituency beating Anshuman Mohanty of INC by a margin of 18,408 votes which was 10.68% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Anshuman Mohanty of INC was the winner in this seat beating Dhruba Ch Sahoo of BJD by a margin of 5,429 votes which was 3.46% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Alekh Kumar Jena of BJD won this seat defeating Nalini Kanta Mohanty of INC by a margin of 4,335 votes which was 3.28% of the total votes polled for the seat.
