In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Sudhansu Sekhar Parida of BJD won in this constituency beating Gobinda Chandra Das of BJP by a margin of 4,118 votes which was 2.47% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Gobinda Chandra Das of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Sudarshan Jena of BJD by a margin of 13,829 votes which was 9.28% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Sudarshan Jena of BJD won this seat defeating Gobinda Chandra Das of IND by a margin of 30,723 votes which was 26.14% of the total votes polled for the seat.
