In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Parshu Ram Dhada of BJD won in this constituency beating Rakesh Kumar Malik of BJP by a margin of 4,936 votes which was 3.22% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Parshuram Dhada of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Mrutyunjay Jena of INC by a margin of 4,911 votes which was 3.59% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Surendra Prasad Pramanik of INC won this seat defeating Parshuram Dhada of BJP by a margin of 360 votes which was 0.31% of the total votes polled for the seat.
