In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Bhaskar Madhei of BJP won in this constituency beating Srinath Soren of BJD by a margin of 1,433 votes which was 0.93% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Golakbihari Naik of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Bhaskar Madhei of BJP by a margin of 8,529 votes which was 6.18% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Shrinath Soren of BJD won this seat defeating Ananga Charan Senapati of INC by a margin of 11,193 votes which was 9.8% of the total votes polled for the seat.
